Hugh Bonneville incarnera Roald Dahl dans un biopic à venir !

Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville has been set to play Roald Dahl in an untitled biopic about the famed author of beloved novels.
Described as a bittersweet, comedic and heart-warming story of Academy Award winning actress Patricia Neal’s marriage to Dahl, the story will be set between New York, England and L.A. at the beginning of the 1960s, as the writer struggled over some of his most famous works and his wife returned to acting with Hud (for which she would finally win an Oscar).
Emmy-winning filmmaker John Hay will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with David Logan.
“This film tracks the personal triumphs and tragedies behind the marriage of two globally known superstars,” said Pascal Degove, managing director at Goldcrest, which is financing and co-producing. “John and David’s excellent script is an audience pleasing portrayal of Roald and Patricia’s touching love story backgrounded by the cinematic sweep of the swinging sixties.”
“Personally I can’t imagine anyone better than Hugh Bonneville to give the ambivalent nature of Roald Dahl’s life”, added producer Elliot Jenkins. “He was such a man of wounded parts below his polished veneer of self-confidence.”

Ce biopic m'intéresserait
Et Hugh Bonneville me convient assez dans le rôle de Roald Dahl, il me semble avoir la même carrure.
Alors qu'en Lord Mountbatten dans une adaptation récente,  il ne convient pas du tout physiquement (je n'ai pas regardé, j'ai juste vu les photos, ça m'a suffit   )

Bien évidemment, un biopic sur Roald Dahl me ravit ! Et je suis enchantée par le choix de Hugh Bonneville que j'apprécie énormément.

Je pensais bien que cette nouvelle vous ferait plaisir !

Le film va être diffusé sur la chaîne anglaise Sky en février !

Ce casting 

Le casting est en effet parfait
Au vu de la bande-annonce, j'ai l'impression que le film sera surtout autour de l'impact de la mort de l'une de ses filles suite à la rougeole et de son mariage avec l'actrice Patricia Neal, je suis impatiente de découvrir ce film.

Je suis très intéressée par ce biopic. Hugh Bonneville est assez méconnaissable!
