The White Princess (Starz)

J'ai lu que la chaîne américaine Starz se pencherait sur l'adaptation de The White Princess même si la BBC a annoncé de son côté ne pas vouloir prolonger le succès de The White Queen. La série a connu un grand succès outre-Atlantique aussi. Je me demande si le projet verra le jour et si la qualité sera aussi bonne? J'espère que si ça aboutit le casting sera au moins britannique. Que pensez-vous de cette nouvelle? Aimeriez-vous voir ce sequel?

Mouais Starz ça fait un peu peur, la chaîne n'est pas connue pour faire dans la dentelle...

Après s'ils reprennent l'équipe qui a réalisé The White Queen pourquoi pas...

On n'y croyait plus trop, mais il semble bien que la suite de The White Queen soit en route.

Philippa Gregory dit qu'elle attend les scripts et que de nobreux acteurs reprendront leurs rôles et qu'elle espère que Rebecca Ferguson fera une apparition

Je serai au moins au rendez-vous pour le premier épisode, pour la suite tout dépendra de la qualité bien sûr!

Je n'ai pas trouvé d'info pour savoir si c'était bien la même équipe qui réalisait.
Je trouve Philippa Gregory bien positive au sujet du casting (enfin vu que Freya Mavor tourne dans des films français, il y a peut-être un espoir qu'elle n'ait rien de mieux à faire ). Je ne sais pas si l'auteure est très enthousiaste ou si elle a des certitudes.

J'ai bien aimé The White Queen, dommage que la BBC ne prenne pas le relais pour The White Princess. J'attends aussi de voir le premier épisode avant de me décider

Ayant énormément aimé The White queen, je suis à première vue très intéressée par cette suite surtout si le cast est le même. Par contre, le fait que la BBC ne suive pas est mauvais signe (j'ai moi aussi eu de très mauvais échos sur la qualité des séries Starz et le peu que j'ai vu, je n'ai pas aimé...)

Moi aussi j'ai beaucoup aimé Thé White Queen. Je jetterai un coup d'oeil.

The year is 1485 and Princess Elizabeth, daughter of The White Queen, has been pledged in marriage to the newly anointed King Henry Tudor in hopes that it will bring peace to a war-torn country. England is united, but their marriage is soon divided, as rumors circulate that Elizabeth’s long-lost brother Prince Richard is alive and planning to take the throne. Now she must choose between Tudor wife and York princess, between her new husband and the boy who claims to be her own blood and the true heir to the crown.

Forced into marriage with Henry VII, she must reconcile her slowly growing love for him with her loyalty to the House of York, and choose between her mother’s rebellion and her husband’s tyranny. Je ne l'ai pas vue jouer mais j'ai vu que tu l'aimais bien donc je te fais confiance

Et My mad fat diary! Je suis trop contente, j'aime beaucoup cette jeune actrice!

Je suis un peu déçue qu'ils n'aient pas gardé Freya Mavor (c'était elle qui avait le rôle dans The White queen) mais si Emjy aime bien Jodie Comer, je lui fais confiance

Je suis d'accord avec Emjy, c'est une bonne actrice. Elle a souvent des rôles assez difficiles qui demandent de la nuance de jeu. Comme JenniferEhle je l'ai découverte dans My Mad Fat Diary. Elle jouait la meilleure amie un peu pimbêche, en rébellion. Dans Dr Foster elle était la maîtresse qui faisait éclater la vie de l'héroïne et dans Thirteen elle était assez angoissante par moments! Bon choix de casting! À voir pour le reste...

Jodie Comer a eu droit à pas mal de rôles ambigus dernièrement. C'est une actrice qui n'est pas lisse du tout, c'est ce que j'apprécie le plus chez elle.

Michelle Fairley a été choisie pour jouer Margaret Beaufort :

Super ! Une excellente actrice et un personnage très intéressant donc ça ne peut présager que du bon ! Je suis également curieuse de voir comment elle va interpréter le rôle comparé à la prestation d'Amanda Hale...

Previously announced Michelle Fairley (“Game of Thrones,” “Rebellion”) will play the role of Margaret Beaufort, Henry VII’s mother who was a philanthropist, benefactor for the Church, and the calculating mastermind behind Henry’s ascent to the Throne of England. Margaret understands that winning the throne and keeping it safe for the Tudor line are two different things, and works to fortify King Henry’s rule, as York rivals continue to plot against them.

Suki Waterhouse (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Insurgent) has been cast as Cecily of York, the self-interested and jealous younger sister to Princess Elizabeth, while the role of their cousin Margaret Plantagenet – reluctant member of the York clan because of the precarious political position it puts her and her brother in at the Tudor court – is played by Rebecca Benson (“Game of Thrones,” Justin Kurzel’s Macbeth).

Other cast includes: Rhys Connah as Teddy, Caroline Goodall as Duchess Cecily, Kenneth Cranham as Bishop Morton and Vincent Regan (300) as Jasper Tudor. Director and Producer Jamie Payne previously directed three episodes of the acclaimed Starz Original Miniseries “The White Queen,” and he is integral in shaping the vision for “The White Princess” – directing episodes 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8. Jamie has most recently directed an episode of “Queen of the South” for FOX, “Quantico” for ABC Studios and directed and produced two episodes of “Legends.” He directed episodes of “Indian Summers” for New Pictures and Channel 4 and three episodes of “American Odyssey” for NBC Universal, starring Anna Friel, Peter Facinelli, Treat Williams and Jack Robinson. Lachlan MacKinnon (“Burton and Taylor”) is serving as Producer for the series, with Gregory on board as Executive Producer on this adaptation of her novel. Essie Davis Le personnage est intéressant en plus, j'ai hâte de voir comment elle va se démarquer de Rebecca Ferguson.

Je trouve cependant bizarre qu'à l'exception de Caroline Goodall, ils aient changé tout le casting Je ne vois pas trop l'intérêt, surtout que The White princess commence tout de suite après la fin des trois romans adaptés dans The White queen donc ils ne peuvent pas trop invoquer l'âge des acteurs...
J'espère que l'adaptation me plaira plus que le roman en tout cas.

Je pense que c'est tout simplement parce que ce ne sont pas les mêmes producteurs qui financent.

Mais c'est vrai que c'est un peu dommage de perdre tout le casting.
