C'est un peu dans la même veine que ce qu'elle fait (un mystery novel jeunesse) mais celui-ci se passe dans un grand magasin (un department store comme disent les anglais). Forcément, ça me parle. Et la couverture est extra !

I loved this. It was a fun quick, rompy read. The storyline gave you just enough,the characters were strong, interesting and a good mix so that you wont have any of that 'ooooh, my son/daughter wont read it because it's main character is girl/boy'and it was just really a cracking read. (I definitely think there's more going on with Sophie's back story!)h It had echoes of Jacqueline Winspear, and I honestly think Maisie's Billy is this Billy all growed up!

I am definitely going to be keeping my eye out for more in this series!

Je l'ai lu au début de l'été et je l'ai beaucoup apprécié. Il est aussi chouette que sa couverture le laissait présager. Plus que la petite enquête autour du vol d'objet précieux, ce sont les personnages et la description du quotidien dans le grand magasin qui m'ont intéressée. J'ai apprécié qu'on suive plusieurs sortes d'employés, la vendeuse bien sûr mais aussi la mannequin, le portier/bagagiste ...
Je pense que je lirai le 2ème tome, ne serait-ce que pour savoir de quelle manière la relation entre les héros évoluera !

Je l'ai lu aussi avec grand bonheur ! C'est un roman (jeunesse, clairement jeunesse) frais, vif, enlevé, qui se dévore avec bonheur.
C'est aussi un hommage au Bonheur des Dames de Zola : Miss Sophie Taylor ressemble beaucoup à Denise, et le charismatique Sinclair a du Mouret en lui (bon, par contre, Sophie a 14 ans donc pas d'histoire amoureuse avec Sinclair, heureusement !).
Tous les personnages sont de charmants personnages de romans jeunesse, drôles et attachants et les méchants font vraiment peur. J'aime bien aussi que les traits des personnages ne soient pas caricaturaux : on peut être mannequin, très jolie et en même temps impétueuse et courageuse ; ou bagagiste et féru de lecture. Les personnages acquièrent une vraie épaisseur et, comme dit Emjy, on a envie de les retrouver dans les prochains romans.
Bref, à lire surtout si vous cherchez une lecture distrayante et joyeuse !
