J'ai commencé à lire la partie sur 'Persuasion' (vue que c'est mon Austen préféré) et c'est vraiment très intéressant, très bien écrit et je suis d'accord avec de nombreux point dans cette analyse, notamment la partie où il dit que si Austen avait vécu, son écriture aurait pris un autre tournant. Je vous mets un extrait que je trouve aussi très vrai:

Whether Anne Eliot was “too good” for her or not, she achieved the difficult feat of making her interesting from start to finish. The same may be said of captain Wentworth. In himself, he is an interesting personage; but, in Persuasion, Jane Austen accomplishes more perfectly than in any other of her novels the task of revealing the interest which lies in the interplay of ordinary persons.

Les chapitres ne sont pas trop longs tout en étant complet! (après tout, ça sort d'une encyclopédie de Cambridge lol )

J'ai le volume I de la Cambridge History of American Literature. Je l'ai utilisé à la Leeds Metropolitan University, pendant mon séjour Erasmus.
J'aime beaucoup cet ouvrage, je le trouve très clair et bien expliqué. Pourtant ce premier volume concerne la littérature de 1590 et 1820: ce n'était donc pas gagné de rendre cette partie intéressante.
